Claude Puel says he will need to rotate his team again for the trip to Arsenal, but is confident Southampton can progress into the EFL Cup semi-finals.
Saints travel to Emirates Stadium tomorrow for a meeting with the Gunners in the last eight of the competition, just three days after beating Everton 1-0 at St Mary's.
"Of course, I think it is difficult to play this game just after Everton, but it's always a good opportunity to give game time for all the players and to keep every time a good physical level," said the Saints boss.
"We can see this against Everton. It was a game with fantastic intensity and this is possible just because we can rotate every time and keep the players with good fitness.
"It's an important game, away from home, and I hope we can qualify at the end. It's important to continue – it's an objective for the squad."
Puel added Saints will head to London in high spirits after beating the Toffees at the weekend.
"It's better to win, of course, the last game for the confidence and solidarity, but always it's a new start," he said.
"We will see with all the team what we can do for this game, but we are ambitious."
