Saints’ internationals in action

James Ward-Prowse will hope to earn his second England cap tonight as Gareth Southgate’s men take on Montenegro in their latest Euro 2020 qualifier.

The Saints midfielder watched on from the bench as the Three Lions hit five past Czech Republic at Wembley on Friday night, with Raheem Sterling netting a hat-trick that was added to by Harry Kane and a Tomas Kalas own goal.

Stuart Armstrong played 71 minutes of qualifying action on Sunday before being replaced by James Forrest as Scotland beat San Marino 2-0 away from home.

Under-18s fall to defeat at New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Saints’ youngsters gained valuable experience in front of 28,987 people at New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but fell to a 3-1 defeat in their latest Under-18 Premier League encounter.

First-half strikes from J’Neil Bennett and Harvey White put the hosts in control, before a much-improved display after the interval saw Kornelius Hansen halve the deficit.

But as Paul Hardyman’s side pushed in search of an equaliser, a Spurs counter-attack saw White’s strike spilled by Bycroft, which allowed Dilan Markanday to tap home the third and seal the points.

Saints Women hit six past Winchester

Marieanne Spacey Cale’s Women made it 12 league wins from 12 in the Southern Region Women’s Premier League following a 6-0 success against Winchester Flyers at Staplewood Campus on Sunday.

Goals from Georgie Freeland (2), Ella Pusey (2), Rachel Woods and Ellie Chaffe earned all three points, with Saints keeping pace with AFC Bournemouth after of Sunday’s top-of-the-table showdown at Verwood Town (2pm kick-off).

2018/19 Official Members with an 18/19 purchase history can now purchase tickets for Saints’ home meeting with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The ticket exchange for home clash against Liverpool on Friday 5th April (8pm kick-off) is open, with extremely limited availability, while tickets for Saints’ home fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday 13th April at 3pm remain on general sale.

It’s been a long wait but Saints return to action this weekend as they take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League at Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Chris Hughton’s men are one place and three points above Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men, who will be backed by a sold out away end as they look to record back-to-back Premier League successes and take a huge step closer to safety.
